Horsebox Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully.  All bookings are taken on the understanding that the following conditions will apply in full in all circumstances.  A confirmed booking is an agreement that the Customer will comply with these terms & conditions at all times.

  1. You are liable for the cost of repairs to our vehicles in respect of any damage caused by your horse. You have the opportunity to inspect the vehicle before departure and agree any damage, as arguments will not be entered into later. Any contents are your responsibility.
  2. We are insured for care, custody and control up to a maximum of £15,000 per animal.  Acceptance of these conditions confirms that you are happy with this maximum amount. We also advise that you insure your animal for transportation.
  3. We advise that you place travel boots and a tail bandage on your horse for travelling.
  4. Liability is not accepted for loss of entry fees or any other related expenses in the event of delayed or cancelled journeys for any reason.
  5. Should it not be possible to load your horse, a callout fee will still be charged which will take account of the mileage already travelled plus the return trip to base and the time taken in attempting to load your horse.
  6. Should your horse be very unsettled we reserve the right to refuse to transport the animal and a callout fee will still be payable. If your horse becomes unsettled during transit then we reserve the right to sedate your horse and/or call out an emergency vet to sedate your horse if we deem the situation necessary. You will be liable for any veterinary expenses and any delay incurred at £15 per hour.
  7. You are personally liable for your horse during transport. Please ensure your horse has a passport and bring it with you, and if possible, give a copy to the transporter.
  8. Should your horse take longer than 20 minutes to load or unload, an additional charge of £20 per hour will be charged. 
  9. Any booking cancelled prior to 48 hours of departure will incur a £20 cancellation fee, within 48 hours £40 cancellation fee or loss of deposit paid.
  10. A 50% deposit (of estimated cost) is required on booking, the remaining 50% is due on the day prior to travelling, except for emergency transport which will be at the discretion of S.E.T
